HERE’S THE SCOOP…
MENDING POINT ACCUPUNCTURE OFFERS A CALM AND HEALING SPACE
We could not be more obsessed with the location of Mending Point Acupuncture. It's in an 1800's horse barn that was moved to Main Street Old Wethersfield by the owner of the house next door because he loved it so much. And guess what? WE. LOVE. IT. TOO. The old door with the iron latch...the giant beams and wood features inside...the faint smell of old barn mixed with bright and welcoming scents...what's not to love? Mending Point's owner, Dr. Monica Benco offers so much expertise, we trust her with ...well...our kids if she wants them (KIDDING!). She has a true passion for what she does and how she helps those suffering from health issues. The single mom-of-two boys is originally from New Mexico but moved to Rocky Hill 15 years ago and has called it home ever since. She went back to school to study acupuncture in 2016 after receiving it herself. She offers a broad range of services as part of her practice including back pain, digestive issues, neuropathy, hormone regulation, fertility, prenatal and postpartum care, mental health, and more. Outside of work, she enjoys teaching yoga, listening to live music and spending time with her kids. For more info about how she can help you feel and live better, click HERE.
NEW VENDOR MARKETPLACE TO MILL STREET
You know we love when old becomes new again and that's exactly what's happening with the building at 36 Mill Street. There is a vendor marketplace being proposed for the site of the former Yankee Dental (near the train tracks) aptly named Mill Street Marketplace. How exciting?!! This spot will include: 40+ tiny shops, vintage curators, resellers, artists, and makers all in one place! Ummmm...yes please! They are aiming to OPEN this August!
HISTORIC BUILDING SELLS TO DEVELOPER
We love a good "old is new again" story and this will hopefully be one of them! The storied building at 207 Church Street recently sold to a developer who is looking to lease it to businesses. What a great spot for creatives! Send us a DM if you are interested and we will connect you with the realtor.
MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSED FOR WETHERSFIELD DINER SITE
Oh boy...people are NOT happy about this and we kind of see why. There is a proposal for a mixed-use building at the site of The Wethersfield Diner (next to the service station) on the Silas Deane Highway. Honestly, this location seems small for something of that size. This has been all over the news as loyal customers try to save the diner. The owner of the diner recently posted on Facebook that he has been overwhelmed by the support and thinks there may be a way forward so STAY TUNED!
