ATTORNEY CATE CRAIG CAN HELP WITH YOUR ESTATE NEEDS...PLUS, WING STOP'S NEW LOCATION

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

CATE CRAIG WILL HELP YOU PLAN YOUR FUTURE AND ACHIEVE PEACE OF MIND

Attorney Cate Craig has one of those stories that's not only inspiring, but downright impressive. At the age of 31 (when her kids were little), she lost both of her parents unexpectedly. What followed was a nightmare of sorts as she dealt with probate because there was no plan in place for their estates. Realizing it all could have been avoided with the right documents, she decided to enroll in law school and help families avoid this same situation with empathy and compassion. Through night classes at Quinnipiac Law School, raising kids during the day, and taking off one semester after the birth of her 3rd, she graduated Magna Cum Laude (We really hope she got a standing-O for this!). Now, Cate works for Ericson, Scalise & Mangan doing what she loves every day helping people in all areas of estate planning: planning for long-term care and Medicaid using asset protection techniques, drawing up wills for young families, business succession planning, and real estate closings. And, of course one of her areas of focus is PROBATE! Her true passion is comforting people during all of these often overwhelming and emotionally draining situations. On the personal side, Cate and her husband are an integral part of the Wethersfield community. They have been in town for 16 years and her husband is the Principal of Webb Elementary. They have three boys and 2 female dogs (smart move Cate!). Together, they hike, hit the beach in summer, and ski in winter. FUN FACT: Originally from Watertown, Cate grew up dancing and even danced professionally during her 20's. Ericson, Scalise & Mangan has multiple accolades and is an institution in and of itself in New Britain. But isn't it nice to know Cate is right in Wethersfield and can offer you easy planning and peace of mind? We think so. CALL: 860.515.3394 or EMAIL: ccraig@esmlaw.com her to schedule a consult. ICYMI: DORO EXPANDING AGAIN

DORO Restaurant Group is opening a new commissary and Mexican restaurant in the former Bev Max and Pasta Vista locations next to Marshalls. Ummmm, can we get a YES PLEASE?! To clarify, this is not another DORO Marketplace...this is a new concept Mexican restaurant by the group (some people were confused on Facebook). Not sure about you, but we can't get enough Mexican, so really pumped for this! Stay tuned as we follow them for an opening date.

WING STOP TO NEW STARBUCKS DEVELOPMENT LOCATION

Wing Stop has an application going through Planning & Zoning for a new location at the other end of the new Starbucks development on the endcap (aka Atlas Commons) at 1862 Berlin Turnpike. This will be a small, takeout location with about 20 seats. This is exciting because they initially were looking at the old Bev Max space next to Marshalls, but that fell through. We know there are a lot of people looking forward to this! We will keep you posted.

SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR THIS OLD BUILDING

The former Clearing House Auction Galleries building at 207 Church Street has been SOLD! The closing is expected to take place this month. We are suckers for an old building and hope the new owners are going to make old new again! We are working to find out what the plans might be, but meanwhile, what do you think should go there?

NEW GELATO SHOP COMING TO OLD WETHERSFIELD

Old Wethersfield just keeps getting better and better...are you we right? Next up is a new Italian-style Gelateria called Noci Gelato, which will open in the Linden by Larissa Lake space. That shop will move to Larissa Lake & Co. and operate as appt only until their new location is done (just a couple of doors down in the pink house under construction across from The Charles). Meanwhile, Noci Gelato will specialize in artisanal gelato, Italian pastries, specialty coffee, and some retail items. They're aiming to OPEN by June 1st! STAY TUNED.

ODDS & ENDS...

*Raising Cane's met with town staff to review their preliminary plans for the former Denny's on the Silas Deane. We know it's exciting, but you will have to wait a bit...their expected OPEN date is end of 2024, beginning of 2025. Until then, hit up Enfield!

*Vino Crudo, the wine shop taking over the Drumroll Coffee space on Main Street, is now in the space and they are working on renovations. They tell us they don't have a specific OPEN date just yet but will let us know.

*Speaking of Drumroll, they're now in their new, larger space 57 Welles Road in Wethersfield. We have yet to visit but heard it's awesome. Their coffee is legit the best we've ever had...a MUST TASTE if you haven't yet. Get there!

*There have been multiple inquiries for residential and/or business about the old school building at 245 Main Street in Old Wethersfield, but nothing has come to fruition just yet. This is the building that was supposed to be a brewery but fell through. There is a lot of work to be done on the inside, but the right buyer will do something great, so let's be patient and stay tuned!

*Dutch Point Credit Union is proposing a new branch at the PAD site in Goff Brook Plaza. The plan to keep their current location at 195 Silas Deane Highway but will convert the entire building to HQ office space.
